So...weird topic, right?

I have an '18 2500 Tradesman with the grey cloth seats. Over the past several weeks, I'm starting to see odd stains showing up on the seat. Now, I am typically in my truck wearing clean clothing...and I don't eat in the truck...I tend to be a bit fussy and try to keep stuff clean and tidy.

I can't help but wonder, does the fabric on these seats stain from water drops? I could swear its from rain dripping onto the seat cushion bottom when I opened the door in the rain. Then, getting inside and sitting with wet clothing from rain...surely this can't be the case, can it?

I can't even wrap my mind around this.....anyone else see something similar?

That's why I use seat covers. Can take them off every so often and hose off good. When i sold my 01 it had seat covers on it within a couple months 16 years and 375k miles later the seats still looked great under the covers. Though in that time I did go through a couple sets of covers.

The spots are probably just from normal dust and dirt that accumulates on them over time and the rain drops just bring out.

Two big thumbs up to the Carhartt seat covers by Covercraft. See Genos for those. They have gray that works well on your gray seats.

Thanks guys - my last truck was my F150 Lariat that I had for 12 years...it had leather. I was just really surprised that the spots were showing up.

I've been eye-ing up those Carhartt's. If I go with covers, those are my choice. If I don't its going to by Katzkins. ~$250 vs ~$1100

The only thing I worry about on the Carhartt's is I don't see the match for my seat/console setup. I have a Regular Cab Tradesman, so my fold-down seat/console does NOT have cupholders. Nor is there a storage unit underneath the seat cushion. I figure I need to call Geno's and ask before going that route.

Got a teenage Son that uses the truck on dates? That is an age old issue!

well...it was raining cats and dogs saturday. sure enough, the spots on the seat are from the rain. Wow - never saw that before. We must have some toxic rain here in PA. I think I'm going to have to really look into seat covers.

The cloth seats in my '14 seem to do ok with rain etc... My wife's 2014 Edge on the other hand - its a constant battle to keep the seats from looking like someone had an accident. Just a few raindrops and it looks horrible. I need to try some of that fabric guard.

Guess they call it the rust belt for a reason. ;)
