Was at the dealer the other day and the service guy said there was a TSB out for my driver side seat belt. He ordered the parts and I'm going back on Monday for the service. I couldnt find the number on any of the TSB sites and was wondering if anyone has had it done and what it entails. He told me that it would be "wise" to drop the truck off instead of waiting for it.

Thanks for any info.

Is there anything wrong with the seatbelt? Mine has started being slow to retract, like the spring is weak or broke.

Nope nothing worng that I can tell. Service guy just said that there was a TSB that would be covered under warranty and that he had the parts on order. Sometimes mine is slow too. but its not a problem to me. Just wondering if I should cancell the appointment and not bother with it?

Can he give you the TSB number. I don't recall hearing about this one. Many TSB's I blow off but a seatbelt would be one I would persue.

If it's a recall you'd get a notice in the mail and on safety issues they don't waste time getting the word out. A TSB is generally less important. I'd be sure that they have the parts on hand before dropping off a truck.

You must have a good dealer to do a TSB under warranty unless it's broken.

A TSB is just a bulletin describing common problems and their fixes, has nothing to do with a recall.

Most times you have to pay to have a TSB done unless the problem exists while under warranty. After warranty it's your dime even if it's broken. A recall is free at any time original owner or not.
