What is the difference between an HX35 and a WH1C or H1C?

Oh man ,

I'm just getting the loot up for a paint job and my Captains chair back support is slipping. . I looked at it and the teeth are worn on the adjuster... Anyone know a good parts search site or a good priced aftermarket seat. . I'm going to weld it for now:( ... . Chuck

The ratchet hinge is replacable. I did mine a few years ago. Drove around with no seat back for two weeks before I fixed it. I think it was around $50 from the dealer.

Hey ,

Thanks. . I 'll have to give the stealer a call tomorrow. . You may have just saved this seats life!!... ... . Chuck

Do you recollect if it can be redrilled to lean the seat a bit more forward? I sure would love just one more notch upright in my captain's chairs... .

That takes me back -- I've driven more than a few vehicles to the paintshop (prep ar home, get someone else to spray, I can't avoid sags to save my life) while sitting on the proverbial milk crate, with no seat back. Even a gutless economy car still has enough ooomph to damn near put you upside down in the backseat without a seatback... . I can only imagine the impact of a CTD under boost. :D

Make sure to have your VIN number when you go to order. Its the only way the stealer could figure out which seat you have. there were many variations for these years. Also be prepared to wait. Ive been waiting for parts for the seats in my 92 for 2 1/2 weeks:mad:

There is a Dealer(Stealer) here in So Cal that has the hinge but they want $153. 00... ... ... . Chuck

The hinge has the part number on it. I don't think you can modify the ratchet to go further forward but I did not have any reason to try.

Get the PN off the hinge and try www.partsworldwide.com

I have had great success getting parts at 50% of what some dealers want.

I remember when the seat broke on me. There was no warning, I hit the throttle at an intersection after making a stop. The seat back went flat along with me.

I paniced for a second and stood on the gas harder. Wasn't until I was past the other side of the intersection before I was able to get on the brakes, yank myself up and stop. Talk about having to change your shorts.
