I have found something that is not covered in the owners book. The 98 quader I got for my for my wife has wires to the seats which I guess is for heated seats. Now, how do you turn them on? There is nothing in the manuel thats tells. Is that what they are, or what else could they be for?

I don't have a clue. :(

Thanks

Someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think heated seats were offered in '96... . I know they are only an option with leather interior - do you have leather? (I didn't think that was an option in '96 either). Assuming you don't have power seats, my guess is that the wires are for power seats... .

The power seat wire harness is pretty substantial, so it is possible you are looking at the seat-belt wires..... you know, the ones that tell the dummy light on the dash to stay on if you don't have your belt on.

Sorry I was not more detailed about the truck. It is a 98 with leather seats. The wires even go to the passenger side. Why was this not covered in the owners manual?

Thanks for the replys.

Thom,

That's because heated leather seats did not come in the Ram until 2000. The wires you see coming up through the carpet to the seat are for the seatbelt sensors.
