Well my second mallory pump gave up the ghost with only 5,000 ml. 3,300 of which was a road trip. I guess these pumps don't like continuos use. Did anyone else's quit sooner or do I have the record for the quickest kill

Anyone ever figure out a more reliable setup? Guess i'll throw on the original one with the new brushes, then do the same for the second .

I've been running the mallories for the last year and a half or so, basically I have 2 of them and swap them out when one starts acting up. I then take the one that is acting up and install new brushes and give it a good cleaning and it's ready to go again. The brushes cost around 15bucks I believe.

call Piers. He has a good one that supposily last for a long time. I've tried mallery, summit, and stock and they all died Quick. If u go that route i would change the entire fuel line too and go 1/2". I makes a difference.

FWIW, my Carter 4601 has 25k on it. Still running strong. Maybe dropped a . 5psi or so. For $80 it's hard to beat. I did run new 3/8" line to the filter housing though. This is w/ a Comp and BD1s. HTH

Cheers

Tom

Thanks for the replies, I already have the bigger lines, a 1/2" feed and 3/8" return . I did these at the same time I installed the pump.

Guess i'll fix what I got for now , and try something new later.

Just as a side note... . I got 6 months of use out of my first mallory (60k miles), second mallory was 6 months and around 40k miles. The first rebuild of the first pump is bogus data because the pump was prematurely ruined when the truck was stolen. I've got my second pump back on the truck with new brushes in it now.
