OK fellas-

I am VERY new to this whole Dodge thing. I currently own a 2001 F-250 Powerstroke with pretty much everything you can throw at it(ball bearing turbo, injectors, intercooler, chip, exhaust, headers, etc, etc) and I am pretty sure I am going to go 'to the dark side', meaning I am going to switch over to a Dodge. I am tired of being left in the dust by Cummins owners with just a chip, and me getting 15 mpg.

I have a boat-load of questions. I am looking at buying a 2004+ Dodge Cummins with the Common Rail. I am going to throw the book at this truck also--twins(or a big single) turbo, injectors, chip(s), ATS manifold, Fire-ring the heads, studs, etc, etc. What kind of mileage can I expect with the chip(s) turned down? Any year in particular that is better than others? Who has the most hp/tq with a Common Rail? Is there anything that I should know before hand about these trucks? I am a very new member to this site, and still exploring.

thanks in advance

WU

If you are going with a 4x I dont think your fuel milage will be any better then your 15 mpg you are getting now. Around town if I baby the throttle I get 14, freeway miles I get 16. Towing 10,000 lbs I maintain 10 mpg @ 70 mph avg.

With all the mods to your Ford I am surprised you think a Cummins with just a plug and play will leave you in the dust? If that was the case I am sure the Cummins had much more done then that.
