GREETINGS,
Well, I've changed the oil at 1,500 miles and again yesterday at 4,500 miles. Thanks to this site, the initial oil filter "stongman" removal was anticipated. However, on both of the oil changes, I've found the drain plug rather loose. Yes, I torqued it by the book at the 1,500 mile change. I suppose I'll be checking it now between changes too.
I want to thank everyone for responding to my friend Chris [ MOTORHEAD ] when he posted some questions regarding the Cummins I purchased new from DAVE SMITH MOTORS. It was easy to see living in the Seattle area would not isolate me from all the valuable information available.
I'm anxious to to get my JORDAN trailer brake installed. I'm really interested in meeting a few Seattle area TDR members to see their GAUGES, EXHAUST BRAKES ,etc. :--) There are many posts on this site that have helped me aim my choices, but "SEEING IS BELIEVING"
Yes, I'm ready to BOMB my Cummins with GAUGES, EXHAUST BRAKE AND 4' STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM.
Thanks for helping me make the right choice of CUMMINS over the others. THANKS AGAIN, JIM
