Just finishing up installing a boost, pyro and transmission gauge in an Autometer A pillar mount.

Now I'm looking for the BEST way to secure the new A pillar since it didn't come with any type of mounting hardware..... any suggestions out there ?

'A' Pillar Fastener

Just above the top gage, (about 1/2 inch) drill a hole through the plastic, then place it against the pillar where you want it and drill the post. I used a no. 10 black sheet metal screw 2" long with a decrotave washer and installed screw. Put plastic gage holder behind door edge plastic before drilling door post.

screw cap

You can also hide the head of your screw with a plastic hide a screw cap. Paint it the same color as your pillar, looks good. I also placed a small block of wood with the screw going through it behind the pillar to keep it tight against the post, this way the pillar would'nt travel up and down the screw, cause noise and be loose. Good luck.

Go to picture test 2

If you go to picture test 2 you can see my apillar with screw and cap. Just learned how to put pictures on here but it would'nt let me duplicate it. Good luck:cool: :)

Fasteners

You can buy the Christmas tree fasterns at your local Home Depot, Or even better yet get some high quality double sided tape and run it the full length of both sides between the new pillar and the origanal, then you won't see any fasteners
