Wife and I were somewhat panicked today-we were stuck in a long line of traffic, all parked due to a bad accident. People would get discussted and make a U turn, then everyone would move forward. This happened 3-4 times-I left the window on my side down, start the truck, move forward, shut the truck off. (This is a six speed/HO). Out of the blue, the horn began blowing (not pleasant as I have air horns hooked into the horn button), the lights (head and parking) flash in time with the horn. I thought the panic switch had activated for some unknown reason but pushing the switch did nothing. I ordered this truck with remote keyless entry ONLY, but apparently it was equipped with a security alarm system. The truck would not run-no fueling. I was stuck because everything the owner's manual says to do to unlock this thing did not work. The wrecker driver on the scene of this accident took the key and locked and un-locked the door 3 times-the truck started up and ran fine
all the way home.
Question-What did I do to activate the alarm?
Second question-Whythehell doesn't the book say anything about what the wrecker driver did? He saved me a lot of grief and a $100. 00 wrecker bill, not to mention the grief from the wife unit!
Is there something that I did wrong when I wired the airhorn solenoid in to the horn wiring?
How do I test this "security alarm system" that I didn't order??
Thanks and heads up on the key trick!
