My son said his turbo is seized on his 94 auto. Not sure how bad it is. . probably know in a day or two when he gets a chance to pull it.

If it's rebuildable we can handle that, I have a kit for an H1C series. He has the HTT stage III set-up currently.

If it's toast, I am looking for suggestions on what to upgrade with. He does a lot of highway, does a little towing with a dual axle trailer and a couple of sleds or ATVs, and the bed is uaually half full with stuff.

He has 300 marines, 4k gsk, 181 del valves, #6 plate, 4 inch Rip exhaust, BDD transmission upgrades, . 354 diff ratio.

He needs something to lower his EGTs as he rarely pays attention to his pyrometer ... (which is probably why I'm making this post)

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

Jay

So far I am satisfied with my Industrial Injection 62/12. Not laggy at all and with the Mods I have it dosent get as toasty as the stock HX I had on there.

i would look into the HTB2 line of turbos, while the hx 40 would be a good option, the HTB2 turbos flow more air than the 40, and have much better spoolup than the 40, for about the same price. the nice thing about these turbos is they are very easily upgradeable, if you need more air, or a bigger/smaller exhaust housing. if he's going to be towing, he will have some surge with the bigger wheels obviously, (64mm, 66mm) but shouldnt have anyproblems witht the 62. if you choose to go with the 62, i would suggest the 14 housing, the spoolup differece between the 12, and 14 is minimal, but the 14 has much better top end, and doesent have high backpressure, which will obviously raise EGT's more. good luck turbo shopping.

i have noticed in upgrading my 12 to a 14 about a 150 to 200 egt drop a 16 non waste gated can also drop egts alot about another 200 over the 14 wastegated but you run a risk of over spoolling the 16 as with any other turbo check out high tech and hope you find the right turbo that works for you just my . 02

Thanks guys... .

He discussed it with HTT and they are shipping him an HTB2... but it's a tad pricier than the HX40 to say the least. Not sure on the exh housing size but HTT also guesstimated a 200 deg EGT drop.

BTW the stage III set up had been fluttering bad for quite a while... the comp wheel and housing are toast, turbine is still seized in the bearing. It's a real work of art.
