4 stroke kicker advice

So I am getting ready to sell the Dodge and am trying to decide where to sell it. I have experience with buying and selling on eBay but have never dealt with a high dollar item, like my Dodge Truck.

Has anyone out there had experience buying or selling? Good, bad, indifferent? Tips? Any input would help... ... .

I've bought a jeep off of e-bay as well as sold a motorcycle. It's not much different than buying/selling lower dollar items... but it will cost more to run the add and obviously you'll be a little more 'stressed' since you're dealing with thousands of dollars.

The main thing you need to do is specify shipping arrangements... IE: will you arrange shipping, or do you want the buyer to make ALL shipping arrangements? ALSO make for 100% certain the add states the buyer is 100% responsible for shipping costs. OR make it a little easier and make it 'local pickup only'... and offer to meet them within a reasonable distance from where you live (say 50-100 miles).

Write down all the questions you would ask a seller if you were to buy a vehicle and make sure you answer them in your add.

I would also spend the extra $$ for a 10 day add. And don;t be surprised if no one bids on it until the last day or so.

My . 02-- Take many pictures and include them in the ad. Also, list every little thing that is wrong with it, i. e. small dents, scratches. If you don't list them I guarantee the potential buyer will make an issue of it. Also wouldn't hurt to offer that if they're not happy with the condition when they arrive to pick the truck up, they don't have to go through with the deal. This gives the buyer a higher comfort level on your honesty. Finally, have a clear title and bill of sale ready. If they won't pay in cash, then tell them you'll hold the cashier's check until it clears (usually 10-15 days) There are a lot of fake cashier's checks floating around these days so you need to be careful. Personally I would never buy a vehicle off of E-Bay unless it was a really good deal and I could look at it and test drive it before I handed over the $$$$.

All the advice given by XJSuperman is right on the money. I have great e-bay vehicle sale story. We advertised our six horse GOOSENECK trailer complete with many pictures for sale on E-bay. A buyer from Washington state called with lots of questions and asked for more pictures. After lots of communications a deal was struck and they made a date to come get the trailer. I about sh**t when they showed up with a suburban.
