I'll take that one :-laf I've owned two Durapooch trucks.
The ride is "better" if you are into Buicks, the ride is so soft that replacement shocks are pretty much mandatory. Over 70 mph the truck will float like one of those parade barges. The Dodge trucks have a firm suspension befitting a TRUCK. The ride is much more controlled and the steering more accurate. But hey, some guys like to feel like they are driving their couch
Way more power..... ummm lets see, Cummins is 610 lb/ft of torque, Chevy says they offer 590 lb/ft but the engine is de-fueled in first and fifth gears because the Allison you are lauding can't take the torque, so really on take-off and at highway speeds you only get 520 lb/ft, not sure how you figure it has more power when clearly it has quite bit less. Not only does it have less power but expect less milage as well. My '03 pooch vs my '03 Cummins towing across the country and through the mountains, the pooch got 11 mpg, the Cummins got 14 mpg, and the Dodge was towing three times the wieght!
Also, don't lean on the bed of the Chev, both of mine dented at the slightest touch, very flimsy. You get no underhood light because not only is GM going cheap on the shocks and sheetmetal, they are too cheap to put a light under the hood.
GM makes a good girls truck. It isn't meant for any kind of work, it is a tall car with a cheesy injector eating Jap deisel. Enjoy, I've been there, done that, I've had two Chevys, now I have all Dodges, I know what works, it isn't the Duramax
