I've been tossing the idea around of selling my 2004 CTD, QC, short bed, 48re for a 6 speed, QC, long bed. I would have to stick to the same year or older because I don't want to pay anything out of pocket.

I haven't had any problems with my truck (other then the death wobble), its just that I regret not getting a long bed and I would really like a 6 speed.

The downside is I only have 52,000 miles on my truck.

Any thoughts or advise on this matter?

Low miles trucks are out there. Your best bet is to sell your truck yourself rather than trading it in. If you trade you are gonna take a hit because the seller has to make a profit .

It's been a while since I've done any research... were there any changes in the '03 to '04 trucks with a manual transmission?

I will be selling it on my own.

Andy Morrison, I have a '05 Liberty CRD as well that my wife drives. Now I need to start making my own biodiesel and I'll be set.

Thanks,

Craig

I went from a 2nd gen gas quad cab short bed truck to the current truck. The thought was that I wanted the quadcab long bed, but it turns into a long truck. Then it seemed more important to have the long bed I honestly dont really need the back seat. There is enough room to put what I need in the cab, the overall truck is lighter as well. Just food for thought. Do you really need the long bed to justify the hassle swapping a low mileage truck?

Not really but I might like a camper in the future. I figure if I'm going to do it, I might as well do it now. I'm not into the 6. 7 and don't want a payment so if I do it, the sooner the better. I know they're not rated for campers but are guys hauling campers on the short beds?

I see all kinds of trucks come down here with all kinds and sizes of in bed camper setups. There was a Duramax ext cab short bed that had an absolutly huge camper. Extended almost two feet aft of the bumper and all the way forward to the windshield over the cab looked like you could stand straight up with your arms held high with out hitting the ceiling. With the array of campers out there, lots of choices. Lots of space though with quad cab long bed.
