I know I can probably find the answer by reading the paperwork, but thought I'd ask in case anyone went through it recently. Dealer is really trying to buy my 2018 Laramie. I bought the Maxcare warranty when I bought the truck. Warranty is still good for 4 yrs., 60k miles. Does anyone know what happens to the warranty if I sell the truck? Do I get a rebate? Is it transferable to the new owner? Or, am I just out the cost of the remaining term? Thanks in advance since I couldn't find it by Googling.

Also there should be a one time transfer to new owner for a fee within the first 30 days. I was able to transfer Maxcare from FIL to me for $50 at that time in 2018. It should be outlined in the paperwork somewhere.

I can tell you from personal experience with a VW extended warranty they throw the paperwork in the garbage and the new owner won't get it as the Dealer wants to sell them a new warranty.

Contact MaxCare for the actual FACTS.

Likely your contract is similar to one I posted here.

You would be money ahead to sell it on your own. Start the bidding at what the dealer is offering you, auction price no doubt, and go from there. It's a lot of money to pay the dealer for you to not have to deal with motivated buyers having trouble finding a HD pickup. The warranty adds value to a buyer.

List it for sale among "friends" here.

Just saying.
