Drop chains for lifted trucks?

Voltage drop thru Dodge trailer lights connector

Pulling trailers of assorted lengths at 60 to 65 on interstate. Semi's pass and get more sway from their passing than I am comfortable with. SRW and Firestone Air Bags at 80 pounds, tires at 60 pounds using Reese level hitch. Looking for experience here, sway bar ? Helwig ? Rollguard (would require removing the air bags. ) Other options that would work well with airbags or better than. R C

Surprised that you are having difficulty with this. What is the weight of your trailer? See my signature, I set speed control at 70 MPH pulling tandem, and don't experience with sway, even in the second trailer.

I tow a relatively light Artic Fox 24' trailer (6000lb loaded) and use a Reese dual cam anti sway hitch.

Generally this hitch lives up to my expectations however on the freeway my speeds are generally 5mph below the posted limit. 18 wheelers generally travel 5-10 above the limit. When I am passed by an 18 wheeler or in the rare case when I'm doing the passing, I do get pushed arround more than I would prefer. When passing or being passed I need to stay on the ball and correct for the induced sway.

In fact I am halfway throught a 3000 mile trip, (90% freeway travel) and your post has prompted me to not only reply, but to revisit the issue of installing a supplemental sway control solution to my hitch.

I'll post a followup as soon as I perform the upgrade and get a few miles of freeway towing under my belt.

when you see them coming (or even after they suppressed you and already went by) just keep on the fuel, and put a little drag on the trailer brakes by using the button (or lever) on the controller.

It will stop the sway if its already started, and prevent it if you put the trailer brakes on as they pass you. It don't take a lot of trailer brake, try it, give it a little and see how much it takes to fix the problem.
