Fuel mileage, performance comparison

Looking for locations of sending units I have one gauge left to install it's a SPA pressure/temp gauge.

where are you guy's with the 97 models tapping into the fuel system for a fuel pressure gauge ?

When I bought the spa's they didn't make a pressure/pressure gauge, wich is what I wanted so that I could do a pre and post fuel filter pressure, and there is no way, that I am aware of. to convert the temp side of the gauge over to pressure. So I guess I will do engine oil temp, where is the place for engine oil temp ?

Thanks,

Scott

On my 97 I used the adapter from TST that screws into the bleeder screw on top of the filter. From that I used rubber fuel line (for Diesel fuel) to a 1/8th " tee fitting and screwed the sender into one end of the tee, the fuel line into the other end and for the last leg of the tee I used a pipe plug that I drilled and tapped (not clear through) for a 8-32 machine screw and used that to fasten a ground wire to ground the sending unit. I used Zip ties to fasten it to a convenient hose and it works great. The 18" of rubber hose seems to dampen the pressure spikes pretty good.

I found the best way to tie in for fuel pressure is to remove and tap a port into the end of the injection pump inlet banjo bolt. It's out of the way, very strong, cheap and you can still use your bleed screw. Use a gauge snubber or needle valve next to the tapped port to eliminate pulsations that will destroy your sender. From there you can use a rubber grease gun hose to isolate your sender, they're also cheap, very strong and come with 1/8" pipe threads on both ends.
