P7100 Fuel Delivery Valve Failure

EGT on ETH

Hey guy's, I have been working on istalling the sending units for my three $pa guages (pillar mounted). I got the rear diff done, easy because of the Mag-Hytec cover. I also completed the EGT, little scary drilling the exhuast manifold but I am over it.

I am looking for sugestions on where some of you mounted the transmission Temp sending unit, and the Boost sending unit.

I will only have the pre and post fuel filter pressure left after that and I think there are plugs in the top of the filter housing for that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Scott

You can get a trans line from dodge that had the hole for the sending unit,I believe it is for an older model (94 ?). Another choice would be to make new lines, with a manifold adapter for the sending unit. You can also mount it in the pan,but it isn't quite as accurate for max temps.

There are several plugs in the intake to mount your boost gauge, one under the upper intake, and one just behind the AFC housing. The rear plug will require an adapter fitting. See here for more info.

For the fuel pressure gauge, there is the bleed screw on the fuel filter outlet pipe, but you may want to keep it for bleeding. I just tapped the banjo bolt at the P7100 inlet. When I do upgrade to braided lines,I plan on adding a pre-filter access point too. I don't know if you can adapt something to the inlet side,as that bolt is pretty small.

VERY nice truck BTW,hopefully mine will grow up to look like that one day !

Definetly get the line that has a place for a sending unit in it. The fluid output line has the hottest temps in the whole trans. If you need further assistance call Bill Kondolay at Deisel Transmission Technology 604 504-4002. He is the trans master.

Bigramguy,

Thanks for the info I read your post and went out and found the intake plugs you where talking about and the fuel lines, as far as the transmission temp HVAC sugested drilling and tapping the PTO cover maybe even welding a plate to it for more threads I was also told today that somebody makes a PTO plate replacment alread drilled for the sending unit anyway I think the PTO plate might be the way to go with the transmission.

Thanks again for the help.
