2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission sending unit

How many people have had fuel tank send unit problems? What is easier pull the bed or pull the tank? mine is find until it gets to a half tank then it bounces all over the place. Has anyone using the TST kit or changeing the plate had any problems? I am thinking about changeing mine I am pulling 9000lbs and need a little more power on Hills my truck is all stock.

i jsut upgraded my fuel sending unit with the update kit available on this site (do a search, cost=$3) i did both i started to lift the bed and i couldnt get it high enough to realy work under the truck. so i dropped the tank which in my eyes is easier, jsut make sure that it is close to empty. i also added a #5 plate which made a he11 of a difference in the power, if you have an auto beware stock it wont hold much power, hope this helps

I think just about everyone has had the fuel sending unit fail (usually around 50k miles. There are tons of old threads on this common problem.
