I'm wanting to purchase a service manual for my 97 3500.



I've seen the Dodge manuals at a few places for $90-99



Cummins offers a "Troubleshooting/Repair" manual for the B Series/12 Valve for $75.



Is there a difference? Is the Cummins one just for the engine and components and the Dodge for the whole truck plus engine?

We do not stock the Cummins trouble shooting/repair manual, but it's probably safe to say that it will only cover the motor, fuel system & cooling sytem ect. The Dodge factory service manual is what the Dodge tech. uses & is going to cover everything from your motor to the electrical sytem & everything in the middle. For the extra $25 I would go with the safe bet & have all the info you would need. Scott

IMHO (and many others) there is only manual (does that make me a zealot??) the one used to the BUILD the truck. Many others were supposedly written by dissecting a truck. This may have been the foundation for medicine (from graverobbers to Galen) but it stinks for engineering!! If you EVER have an electrical problem you will be very grateful for the OEM service manual!!
