It's been two weeks since I drove my truck
And it's going to be 6 weeks more!!
I'm on an "all expense paid European Vacation" curtesy of Uncle Sam. I'm driving a rental-- an Opel Vectra. I hate driving small cars. These are potential hood ornaments to my truck. Luckily there aren't any of those over here.
There are worse places I could be, but I miss my truck. Oh, I guess I miss my family too. Yeah, I miss 'em.
I'm a pilot, and I don't get to fly but once a month while I'm over here
Any more than that is just to be an observer for crews that haven't been to certain places in a while. Right now I'm sitting a midnight 12 hour shift, and I'm bored sick!!
I have my son starting my truck every week, and letting it run for about twenty minutes or so. Then he revs it up to about 1500 rpm for a couple of minutes and shuts her down. I hope this is enough to keep the batteries fresh and prevent any gelling in the lines. It's warm enough that there shouldn't be any probs. But NOBODY drives it but me.
I don't have any better place to park it but in my driveway. My wife sprays it down in the evening every couple of weeks. I hope that's enough.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
