Server is busy?

Tonight when over 220 users where on line the server is busy screen never came up, instead things started moving slow and the page can not be displayed screen came up several times for me at various times until I finally gave up. Other websites worked fine. Is this related to our server or just the connection? Keep up the good work, just a couple of weeks ago anything over 200 users would have really choked the system.

I had the same thing. It would have been 9:30 PM central that the entire site went down. It is a lot better though, keep up the good work.

It's being researched but so far it looks like it wasn't a problem with the server but with the backbone the server is on. So far no error's have been found in the server logs and nothing was done to reset it.

Router

The problem is a router bottleneck. The server is being moved to another node on the network so it won't happen. Between the two sites on the server we're pushing a LOT of bandwidth, in excess of 12 gigabytes per day in the last week.

Yeah, yeah, you applications guys always blaming the routers for the network being slow. Like I don't hear that enough at work already.

it is about 1am saturday morning here in fl and indeed things are working sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo however, the two other competing sites are even worse. my favorite harley site is alive and well. bruce

Tried to get on this morning at 6AM and got "server busy, try later". Tried several times to get on, finally gave up and came back an hour later. All was fine then.

This morning....

We try to do server intensive tasks (database compacting, backups, etc. ) during the mornings before business hours. I was compacting the database this morning.
