Ooops - I got a call this morning at about 11:00 am that the site was down - I had been up to 5 am this morning working on the site and it looks like it went down a little after 6:00 am. I had forgotten that we got a notice last week that they would be doing some upgrades on the power system at the host facility and would be downing and bringing back up our server some time between 6:00 and 9:00 am. It looks like when that happened that it never came back up. My mistake - I meant to be up during that time period to monitor things and make sure it came back up ok, sorry.

There is a problem with the data on the master server right now and it won't boot so I have switched the site over to the slave server. What that means is that some data may have been lost since yesterday. Everything in the forums should be there because that's backed up on a continuous basis. Other parts of the site however are backed up each morning at 5:30 and that process takes approximately 30 minutes. It looks like it completed but I can't be sure. Parts of the site where data entered since yesterday morning that could have been lost are the classifieds, readers rigs, links, and the travel companion. If you entered information into those yesterday and it isn't there then please resubmit.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Actually, passwords were never lost. Everyone just had to log in again because the cookie was different and many people had forgotten their passwords. That could happen to people at any time because of either deleting cookies, a browser upgrade, etc - all of which are completely out of our control. That won't happen this time because nothing has changed software wise - it's just on a different box for now (that sits right above the other one).

I didn't even notice it was out Steve.....

My ISP had a major, bigtime ATM path outage that lasted all of yesterday and today. No service until 2300 tonight. Ugh!

And it is still slow. I'm only getting 1152 down on a 1536 circuit. They got some tuning to do yet.
