Server Update

Just an FYI, we've ordered 512 megabytes of RAM to add to the TDR server. The server is handling the load fine now that I've tweaked the database but sometimes it causes it to hit the hard-drive swap file. When that happens under loads, it sometimes causes a server busy message.



We'll give an exact estimate of downtime (probably about 15-30 minutes) and when, in the next couple of days.

The server already has 1. 5 gigabytes. This will bring it to 2 gigabytes.



FYI, half a gig is not the norm on desktops. Most people still run 128 meg or less and don't require more memory. Heck, I've got a gigabyte on my system but rarely use more than 128K ram except when processing server logs (and then 1 gigabyte isn't enough as its disk bound and takes 4 hours to process).

ok, 2 gigs sound better.

i am known to have too much fun with photoshop and big files (300meg area) and it seems i need alot more ram at times.
