2010 3500 4wheel drive, 14000 miles on it. 4wheel drive used once for about a minute in some mud. the "service 4wheel" light has come on in the display. Does anybody know if this is a standard mileage thing or is something really wrong and needs to be serviced? Any help?

Never saw it yet myself, have 37k now since 4/10. Have used the 4x4 prolly 10x, worked well. .

Mebe get on a patch of gravel/etc and flip it on/off while moving, might reset it?

otherwise, dealer-central :/

Mine came on at 2600 miles. Used 4x4 once to test it in grass. I tried it again and 4x4 worked fine but did not reset message. Guess i will call dealer...

Same thing happened with my 2010 Ram 1500 the first time the 4-wheel drive was used. Local dealer said that they see the problem quite often. They did a software update to fix a communication error in the system. That truck is in 4-wheel drive daily and has worked perfect since.

Serv 4wd, abs light on and cruise won't work

Got the SERV 4WD light, and ABS light when I started the truck this morning after the truck sat for a day and had plowed the day before. Also could not cruise to engage. Temp here has gone up 20 degrees in the last 24 hours... major thaw after heavy snow and week of below feezing temps. First problem Ive ever had with truck (29,000 miles) Any ideas?

Update: Darn Squirrels!

Dealer found the problem--right front speed sensor wire was chewed up by a squirrel. It threw an ABS and 4 WD code and disabled the cruise. Dealer covered it under warranty. :) Now everything's back to normal. Lesson learned--check all the wires before driving 50 miles to the dealer.
