Anyone know if a service body from a '95 Chevy or other similar years will fit on my '01 without too much work? I found a truck for $1200 with an 8' aluminum service body on it, but haven't been able to get any dimensions for it.

Use Google, call a body manufacturer. Any of them should be able to tell you frame dimension differences between the '95 Chevy and your truck.

A traditional standard wheelbase chassis cab has a 34” frame width, and a 60” cab-to-axle. A regular 8' pickup with the bed removed has a wider frame width (varies between make and year, I think your Dodge has a 37. 6” frame width, and some of the Chevrolet pickup frames even taper in width), and 8' bed pickups have a 57” cab-to-axle dimension.

You will have to check all the frame dimensions and also how the service body is mounted to see if it will fit.

Most service bodies are made to fit 34" frames. Every time I have installed one, I have had to make brackets to fit the dodge. On one I had to cut into the lower tool box to be able to fit around the front spring mount.
