Anything can happen, but I do not think that's your problem. I changed mine and later realized the lift pump was not running at times. I finally partially unplugged a very large connector on the Drivers side firewall and reseated it. Haven't had a problem since although I did wire in a bypass switch. If you have a valve handy and want to ease your mind it doesn't take much to change.


I agree, not the same issue.
 
DavidC, basically you hit nail on head = to ease my mind and simple to do.
Nisaacs, definitely not same issue, but never can tell sometimes.
Thinking, remote possibility, here's the engine all nice and idling, overflow valve happily sending fuel back to the tank, trans goes into neutral 5 seconds or so overflow still happy, then a change happens trans goes into a gear, let's say overflow has a burr or something weird going on inside that lags on the need for a slight amount more fuel needed for that split second... it's a stretch big time, but will ease my mind and is a free swap. BTW tubes and seals arrived. I stupid forgot to order new air horn/grid heater gaskets, they're supposed to arrive Friday. Will update. Thanks for replies.

I haven't had time to install tubes or old overflow valve yet, getting home ready for market. Hope to do sometime this week. Also Hope... this resolves stall when going (after waiting in N for 5 seconds or so) from N to P or D.
