Just wondering if there is a service interval for the Enviroguard Breather filter under the Valve Cover on a 2005 CR ??

Also, once the valve cover is removed, once the 2 bolts holding the filter are removed, how is it removed ??

Could add pix if necessary.

TIA

Its inserted into a rubber grommet like a PCV valve, just pry it out.

I took mine out an cleaned it to make sure it wasn't plugged. Not sure there is anything in there that needs replacing or serviced.

Thanks !!!

I am going to pull it off this aftrenoon and take some pix...

I am still looking for a place on the actual valve cover to mount my Spinner2 centrifugal oil filter.

If I need to, can I replace the enviroguard with the simpler breather tubes and catch bottle of the older 24v CTD without affecting the ecm ??

Should be able to do that. That filter just replaced the catch bottle and made it so maintenance was really a non-factor. AFAIK, there is no connection to the ECU.

There is no connection to the ECU, it is just made of baffles and it catches the oil / mist. Circulates it back into use.

Thanks guys, I took mine off today just to check it out while I had the valve covershield off.

Yup, just a baffle box, though i hear that there may be with some rough scotchbrite in it.
