First, hello to all from a new member and new Turbo Diesel owner. I just bought a 93 W350, LE Club Cab, 5speed, 4X4, with every thing but leather( I think). The truck has 78k on it and aside from paint, is in excellent condition. My question for the group is this. I'm a "do it yourself" kinda guy and I'd like to find a service manual for this truck. I've looked online, to no avail. I guess the truck is just too old for anyone to stock manuals for it anymore. If anyone has information as to where these are available, please send me an Email with the info.
I've only put 500 miles on this truck and I can tell already I'm gonna love it! The more I drive it, the more I like it. I've been pulling a 7,000 lb enclosed car hauler for the last 7 years with a (cough) Chevy (cough) C10 half ton and I'm really looking forward to hooking this Cummins to it. After the Chevy, I'll have to be careful not to yank the hitch off the trailer though, hehe! Fuel mileage so far is 17 highway (73MPH on cruise) and 15 all around. I was only getting 8MPG on the Chevy towing and whth what I've heard that will increase significantly with the Diesel. If I can get 13 or 14 with it I'll be happy. Well, enough for now. I don't want to wear out my welcome. See Ya! Ken Rutledge, Concord, Va

Welcome aboard!!! Your mileage sounds in the ball park. Highway traveling with a load should be close to around town mileage. I just bought my service manuals from the local Dodge dealer. Good luck and have fun.

Racer Brown, welcome. This is a good place, lot of very knowledgeable people. I purchased my service manual from Dyment Distribution Service Ltd. , 210 Wicksteed Ave. , Toronto, Ontario, M4G 2C3. The toll free number is 1-800-387-1143.
Good luck,
Al

Al's got the right info for the service manual, it's a good one, worth having.
Nice cars!

No, but you just told your age! I used that cam back in the early 70's on a 440 engine I built for a friend. They were real popular in the Mopar ranks back then. When I got on the Web in 1995, by chance I just started using that as a screen name for some of the sites I went to, and it stuck. Most people don't have an clue what Racer Brown is, except for us old dudes!hehe

And thanks for the comment on the cars. I sold the Camaro when I finised the Studebaker in 92, so I only have one now. It's a driver and a racer whereas the Camaro was race only. My wife and I really enjoy the car and we've built our lives around that car and, believe it or not, computers. She did the web pages for that site and also the ones that are linked to our site. We're going to include the Dodge in there sometime later this year. I do computer repair stuff as a hobby and enjoy online gaming (Quake2). I have to grow old, but I refuse to grow up... :) Big Boy's Toys forever! See Ya!
BTW, What kind of boat? I've fooled around with those too.

Greetings Racer,
For Dodge manuals, you can't beat Dodge. You're on the right track there. Cummins also puts out two manuals on the engines themselves. If you want to call 1-800 DIESELS
(thats Cummins Customer Assistance Center) they call direct you to a local dealer. The manuals are; "Operation and Maintenance Manual B Series Engines" Bulletin #3810205-12
and "Shop Manual B Series Engines" Bulletin # 3810206-12. Kinda pricey, and are for the engine ONLY but they do have a bunch of info not normally covered in a general vehicle shop manual.

Hope this helps, Jones

Racer, "do it yourself" would have to be an quite an understatement #ad
! Those two vehicles are something, and I'll bet a lot of fun!

Welcome to the would of Cummins!

Have you tryed Faxon Auto Literature, they specialized in second hand literature and the prices are reasonable, I paid $54 US for a "92" factory manual. My local dealer quoted $92 per book and claimed the complete manual was 3 books. The only thing my manual doesn't have is procedures for the Getrag 5 speed transmission.

Ken,
I had a RacerBrown cam in an Alchohol fed
1200cc Honda in a circle track car in the late 70's, over 160hp@ 10,500RPM, not quite as torquey as a Cummins but when a rod let go they ussually ventilated the block.
I don't have a web page with pictures of my boat but it's on a friends website @www.nwoffshore.com in the photo's page, I have a 25' Warlock cat with twin 250 hp outboards. This last year I raced a couple of APBA offshore races in a friends 36' Skater cat. Our boat is kind of like your car, most of our vacations are planned around it(don't let my wife know I admitted it), and it's the reason I bought my Hummin Cummins,
I wish I knew more about computers, I haven't been working on one long, still learning.
Caleb

Welcome Racer:

I'm gald this came up. I am looking for a shop manual and found out that the 95 manual is around $59. 00 and the 1996 manual is around $90. 00. What I'm curious about is, is there any diference in the 95 VRS 96 RAM 2500.
Any Suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
