After seeing all the posts regarding incorrect manuals for the 2001 trucks I was pleased to have mine arrive with it covering rear disc brakes, etc. I ordered about a week ago.

John, I received my service manual yesterday but it didn't cover the HO engine. Did you receive 2 big books? On a different note, how does your truck pull your Sunnybrook? We want to get a fifth-wheel in a few years and I'm wondering if I made a mistake in not getting the 4. 10 gears; the way I looked at it, I figured the HO engine and 6-speed should tow decently and I would get better mileage when not towing with the 3. 54 axle.

Yes, there are two big books. Mine had specs for the 245 hp but I didn't see any specific stuff. I think other than compression and fuel pump (the manual speaks of) there are no differences in the engines.
Your truck with the HO and 6 speed would pull this weight trailer great. I wanted that combo, but by the time my wife got through fighting about the manual trans I lost the one I found and I was not willing to wait. The gear ratio is fine for pulling as long as you cruise at 60 or above. Mine turns about 1750 at 60mph and pulls fine even into a headwind. The only problem I have is the gear splits and the 6spd takes care of that.
Regards
