Service required

Service required, see Dealer message on the overhead console, which indicates service to E. G. R. valve and CCV filter required. I am doing that this week and would like to know how to reset the message center so this does not show anymore. Thanks for any help.



2007. 5 6. 7 auto 3500 cab and chassie. Smarty S67+ DPF delete.

Try this.

PERFORM SERVICE INDICATOR - RESET

Unless reset the “Perform Service” message will display on the EVIC each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position to indicate a emission maintenance is required. To reset the “Perform Service” indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the following procedure:



1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine).

2. Press and release the brake pedal two times.

3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

NOTE: If the indicator message illumination when you start the vehicle, the “Perform Service” indicator did not reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.

This should help you.

Save yourself a ton of money and do the ccv filter yourself. Get it from Cummins, it is alot cheaper. Don't know about the egr hadn't had one in along time.

Cvv filter at one of the local Dodge dealers-$189. 00 + tax, local Cummins dealer-$65. 00 + tax. What a rip off Dodge is, scumbags, sad for the uniformed people that get ripped off every day. I also just bought the updated fuel filter houseing from Cummins for $58. 00, Dodge's price, $130. 00!!!!!!!!

I wish I could have those kinds of mark ups in my line of business.

Geno's Garage has the filter for $56. Dodge charged a friend of mine $ 503 to replace.

Have to do a oil change and got a coupon in the mail for $36 oil change. . What a deal!. It says includes oil and filter... . guess they are hard up for business... . heading down there this Saturday to do it.

I just bought the updated Wix fuel filter, $48. It is a Fleetguard filter and box with a Wix part # label on it. The replacement element is $32.

how many miles? smarty w/dpf delete caused same on 2007 6. 7 @25k cleared with installed edge insight or you can clear with smarty

I am at 80k miles and just changed the ccv, I can't get the over head to reset after following the directions in post #2. I have tried it probably 20 times. . Any thoughts? I don't have an egr so it can't be that.

What does the overhead say: the exact message?

There are different warnings that are programmed in to the EVIC and the EVIC will have different ways to reset them.

I did go back and checked my notes for the CCV filter and this is what is required to reset the EVIC for that reminder.

I believe this is not the CCV filter message. What this is per the owners manual is a DPF issues. The "service required- see dealer now" Is stating that you have not had a regeneration and the system has malfunction. So the dealer must force a regeneration of the filters in the exhaust. See page 80 of the Diesel supplement book for the Ram Trucks.

Now if you are deleted than you may need to reload the tuner program to eliminate this issue or some item is not correctly un-plugged or not plugged in per the tuner instructions.

I had the same thing and had to reinstall my tune to make it stop.
