Love the 64oz cup holders in the 6 speed, new console and rear seatstorage and fold out flat floor.
Now for the real good stuff: oil filter; drops right out the bottom nothing in the way but not acessable from the top. Front axle ends look good but no zerks on ball joints. Track bar has rubber bushing on BOTH ends no more ball stud. New steering gear box. the rest of the steering linkage looks the same. Same fuel filter and location. NO! lift pump visable between tank and fuel filter. On tank side of filter there is a small black cylindrical thing ( looks like a small gas fuel pump or small metal type fuel filter ) that the fuel line goes into but attached to filter housing. Valve cover clearance is adequate, lower vc and more cowl to vc clearance for future ???? things. There is more than enough room for a turbo upgrade. The DARK HOLE that eats tools between the precharge cooler and radiator is not a black hoe any more but the 2 are parallel and tools will now drop all the way to the ground. The air charge cooler inlet and outlet are in the center of each side and the boots ar right at the core support with a cut out on each side to easily tighten clamps or replace boots. The smaller engine bay is offset by the relocation of batteries and a/f and pdp. Physical size of filter housing seems smaller but deeper. New frame rails and cross members are narrower than 2nd gen and smoother bends and radius. Servicing will be no more difficultthan existing trucks.
I like it.
