Well I did nothing with the truck for the rest of the night, I didn't even go out and bother to disconnect the batteries. I just said the heck with it I'll deal with it in the morning, and when I went out in the morning and fired it up all was fine, no little yellow engine light and later today the code cleared it self.
Thanks for the help there TORQUE THIS, and ToolManTimTaylor.
I'm just starting to think that somebody at work tried something with my truck while it was sitting there warming up.
What I mean is it was cold out and when I fired the truck up it was sitting there smoking and a few feet away there was two guys I work with loading a truck, after my truck was sitting there a while I had to go to another part of the wharehouse to load another truck. The guy called me and asked me to shut the truck off and I said I would be there in about ten minutes he said OK.
I did turn off the truck, but when I restarted it to go home thats when the light was on, I am just wondering if they tried to stall it out while I was not there, by trying to cover the exhaust pipe. Would that be enough to set a code and make the check engine light come on???
