. . Since the intank retro LP was done my fuel gauge would hang out on the high end of the scale longer then it should. Last week when I dropped the tank to redo the vents on the tank I figured I'd go and tweak the float some myself... well, guess what , now it really hangs out on the high end longer then I want! Is there a known way to set this so say... when the tank has 20 gallons in it, the gauge reads at the halfway point.

You should have set the float higher, but it sounds like you set it lower. The problem is, a float level is always gonna read linear and fuel consumption is never linear in and irregular shaped tank ... ... ... ..... not to mention the extra fuel added once the float hits "Full". The top half of the tank is always gonna last longer than the bottom half.

Guess I'll drop it again and bend it the other way. the original darn near read evenly if you can believe that. Like on my OKC trips the past few weeks, get to Albuq and the gauge shows 3/8, it took "approximately" 32 gallons to fill back up, and that was not filling to the brim, too damn cold out to screw with longer then that ! LOL! Where you at tonight Jeff?

I don't ever screw with the last gallon or so. I pump till it clicks and hit it one more time ... ... ..... call it done!

I'm home right now, leaving Thursday. Spent my last trip fighting snow, ice and rain between Nebraska and New Jersey, went from there to Oswego(upstate) area NY down to Mississippi and Louisiana back to VA and finally back here to Ohio ... ... ... ... . had the whole gambit of weather!

Lock 'em in and go!
