I want to put on fuel pressure, boost and egt. What ranges do I need my gauges to read? I heard that you want them to read in the middle. Also what all do I need to put them on, parts? Being that I am electrically challenged, is this something for the do it yourselfer? Does someone have a off the shelf kit with everything I need? Thanks in advance.

A place to start could be here , Geno's Garage is a sponser of this sight , or one of the suppliers that are mintioned here , becouse a supplier that knows are trucks is likly to have put together a kit and know what to suggest .
Boost - sock max is about 20 psi , the gauges top out at 50 or 60
fuel - maybe max is about 18
EGT - you do not want to run higher than 1250 max for short periods crusing - maybe 600 -700

my truck does good with 0-35 boost. 0-30 psi fuel pressure. 0-1400 pyro. and 0-250 trans temp. my boost only hits 30 psi for a short time. on the highway it stays anywhere from about 5-15. depending on if im hauling a trailer or not. my trans runs about 150 on the highway. and my fuel pressure stays at about 13psi. i dont worry about egt's too much. my truck is not much more than stock. besides i have never seen much more than 1000 deg anyway. i got all my stuff from dieselperformanceparts.com. hope this helps.

My truck is stock, and I do fine with the 0-1400 pyro, 0-30psi fuel pressure, and 0-60psi boost (for a stock truck, 0-30 would also be fine). My room mate and I each bought kits from Diesel Manor, and we have both been happy with them. I called them just to be sure, but it came with everything we needed; pillar mounts, gauges, wiring, all the fittings, and a good set directions. Had it installed in less than a day.

ditto all the previous posts, plus one, Geno's now has a guage install kit that has all you need all in one, and they have a real good selection of guages.

Only issue is you have to drill the exhaust manifold for the EGT Probe, other than that, fairly easy install. Geno's has all the stuff you need, I got my gauges and pillar mount from them. Stock motor you can use 0-1400 EGT, 0-30 boost, and 0-15 fuel pressure, if you are gonna turn it up, 0-60 boost and 0-30 fuel pressure, that's what I have on mine. :D

Some people like the gauge to read at half normally because at a glance you can see if it is reading high or low. Most gauges if you want maximum accuracy will tell you that the gauge should read normally at 3/4 as the highthe better accuracy. But I doubt the increase in accuracy would make that big a deal in our applications. So what do you want? I would say you need a gauge that will read between 1/2 and 3/4 when running normal.

Decided I should edit this and give an example of what I mean you need to decide. What EGT are you going to want to monitor pre or post turbo? If before turbo you want to use a 0-1400 but if after you will need a gauge reading about 1/2 that. Alot of this decision depends on if you are towing or not and really what you are using the EGT to help you see,

Hope this helps.
