Shake

Hey guys:

When I accelerate very quickly or am at 45 m. p. h. the truck tends to shake side to side. If I have it in neutral and goose the throttle I can see the transmission shifter and transfer case shifter move side to side also. There is a very bad vibration at 45 m. p. h. I am stumped on the causes. Any help would be appreciated.



P. S. When I took my intermediate pipe off of the downpipe on my exhaust the other day and shook it hard and fast the transfer case was moving up and down I feel they are related but need suggestions.

Sounds like motor mounts or transmission mounts. I've had to put three sets in my 89. A big contributor to them going south on my truck was a lockright locking rearend and a heavy right foot also had to have the frame tweaked back into shape. Seems she was a little twisted. Things are fine now, but my truck is out of commision till I get the GV 2 speed unit installed. Have it in, just waiting on the shafts from a local driveline shop.
