Shaved Head or Long hair???

Got a question for ya's, Never had a shaved head. Going out for awhile and thought about shaving the melon to make life easier in the mountains. Not sure about the up-keep of a shaven Gourd?

The beard is going don't need that out there for sure!! although its kind of like a Lunch Box at times saving food.

Shaving the head that big a deal? how often depends on how fast it grows, I know. But I hate shaving the Mug don't know about the head throw into the mix. growing back it has to feel like a Porcupine

I posted this in the Political forum, which is what its become at home :-laf Sorry for the mistake Dumocraps & Retardlickins :D

Can't speak to shaving head (if you mean a proper baby-butt-smooth shave); I've never seen a reason to do it. But I've experienced reasons not to: ingrown hairs and whiskers, something you don't want up in them thar hills. It's a bother using a dissecting needle to dig out the offending 3" long whisker.

I've been cutting my own hair since '93. Wahl electric shears, chop the beard as close as the cutter will, chop the hair down to ½-¾ inch (#4 or #7 attachment), taper up the sides, let it grow back. Usually good for three months before it starts bothering the ears again. A little bar soap keeps it clean.

Didnt you have a shaved head when you were in boot camp ? :-laf

As far as shaving it now. Maybe about 15 years ago I ran into a kid I knew in school. The last time I saw him (in the early 70's), he had hair half way down his back. Well, he had gone to a seattle mariners game when it was Jay Buner day (Jay Buner is bald as an 8 ball). If you shaved your head you got in for free. That had been a couple of years before I ran into him.

Well, his hair never did grow back. Now he is bald. If it were me, I just wouldnt take that chance. :p

I dont shave my head bald but I keep it short, 1/4"-1/2" tops. Its too much work to keep it shaved clean, I have a hard enough time keeping the whiskers on my face cleaned up. Having a little bit of hair helps keep the sun from scrambling the eggs too. I know guys who shave their heads and this time of the year they have to be very careful about how much exposure they have or they end up getting fried. Seems like the sweat rolling down off your head into your eyes would be annoying too. If you wear hats all the time it probably wouldn't be too big of a deal.

I too use an electric shaver. I use either #2 or #3. Been doing it for about 20 years. It's so much easier, just wake up and go.

Keep mine at about 1/4 inch, and cut it to that every 2-3 weeks. Don't know how I ever stood it being cut once a month at 2-3 inch for 50 years.

If you slick it down with a razor, you'll notice just how fast it actually grows when you try to take your shirt off a few hours later. FYI... It will take a couple days for the Velcro effect to go away :-laf

Mine is trying to do it on it's own. I personally think it looks like sheet, plus your mules might not know you and kick your butt.

I was told last night that im NOT!! to shave the mushroom. I was also told the same as above that he had a head full of hair he shaved it and it never grew back like it was. I have enough problems I really don't need being bald added.

Yes Rat I had a high & tight cropping in Boot, I was reminded about that and we called the new guys (anyone that entered after us into boot) PINGS
Personnel
In
Need
of
Growth

Personnel in need of Growth would roll over in their racks and you could hear your head full of Quills Ping! Ping! Ping! on the pillow case. It was funny with a few beers in me last night

Way back whan I was working someones kid had had cancer, so some of us shaved our heads....for support I guess.
I liked it, so I kept doing it. I shave once a week...weather or not I need it.:-laf

Keep it a #1 don't like or care for long hair anymore .back in High school it was Long but working on truck's I Hate Long Hair . Mustache is a different story I have only shaved that off once in my life time and Never Again :)

I vote for Bald too, do it since close to 20 years now by my self. Cut it with a beard cutter down to under 1mm, let I grow to around 1cm and then cut it down again, that means every other month or so.
Would be really happy if it would NOT grow back again! But it won't stop what ever I do....

Shave my head with a nice quality razor once a week. Was in denial about being bald for a while but been keeping my weekly routine once a week for nearly 12 years. Still grow a beard which only stays during the winter. Get a good burn on a bald noggin once and it'll peel andbe fine rest of summer
