My 1991 D250 went to Minneapolis this afternoon. I sold it way too cheap on EBAY, the first auction there that was not good to me. At any rate, the new owner left Salina with it this morning on her way home. I know of no reason it would not get her home, I hope she has no problems. I just hate it when I watch something like that leave! I should have gave her a copy of the TDR Companion list. I guess I still have two first gens, life is still good. Glen

if you dont mind me asking, who bought it? I might know them, was it a member from this site?

A female, Evelyn ??? bought it for 2650. I set the reserve at 2500, I planned to set it at 3000, then decided it might help if they knew they were actually going to get it bought. That EBAY is a funny machine. Anyway, it is her first diesel, 197,111 miles when it left here. I doubt she is a member, but I did my part and sent her a link to the site. Good truck, a real bargain for that kind of money. If I hit a deer with one of my other trucks or an engine goes sour, I will be the village idiot. Glen

Yes Sir, Inner cooled and sweet running, not perfect, but a good old truck. Nice quiet drivetrain, no noises in the rear axle, clean interior, minor rust in the doors, no rust in rockers, drip rails, cowl or floor. It was a Manhattan Kansas truck. Glen

I could cry for missing this... I would have bought your old girl for going back & forth to work etc. I bought a 94 Plymouth Acclaim  last summer for this purpose and would obviously much rather be driving something Cummins powered, especially a sweet old 1st Gen 12 valver! If she wants to sell, I will jump on it!

Well, If she has any complaints, I'll be sure to send you her telephone number! I doubt that she will though, unless something totally unforseen came along. It was a really sweet driving old 2wd. The doors were the only thing that had rust damage and I had located a set for 300 dollars. A brown driver's door and a red passenger's door. To make things worse, this 1991 W350 has already used more oil than the old D250 did between 5000 mile changes. The W350 has about 3500 on this oil change. The rockers covers are dry on this one and the old D250 was always a little wet. I never had to add oil to the D250, I can tell that is not the case here. Maybe I'll be lucky and it will need a turbo! This one smokes a lot more, all the time. I think the better engine went to Minnesota! I know when the two were sitting there running side by side, that D250 sure sounded a lot better to me, maybe it was the missing muffler. :-laf :-laf Glen

I bought a 94 Plymouth Acclaim

Your Acclaim  is probably better on fuel, but lacks the sweet sound  and definitely the security  of the Cummins. It normally made 18 city and 22 highway, occasionally it would get up in the 24 to 26 range if I did not have to make any stops running down the highway. If I was letting the boys drive it around the pasture, for some reason that tank's mileage would fall to 15 or 16. Might be the roaring exhaust that could be hear a half mile away  had something to do with that. :-laf They always denied hotrodding, but it is hard to be very mad at them, they came by it naturally. :-laf :-laf Glen

Glen, if you do hit a deer, don't forget the backstraps (lemons into lemonaid, right?)

That is correct, hopefully it will be a corn fed doe about 2-3 years old! With my luck it will be a sage brush and soap weed 10 year old buck chasing the doe. We can get game tags for road kills here in Kansas, so they can be hauled to the butcher shop. Sometimes they are destroyed beyond saving, most of the time though at least half the critter in fine. Like you say, the back straps are the best part of the deer and seldom get damaged. Glen

hmmm Minneapolis huh?

So what were her specs (the girl, not the truck)... She might be good to befriend if she's cool enougth to get a CTD. :)

I am going to guess she is 50ish, graying hair, about 5'07" a physics major, she got involved in buying used cars at auctions for friends and family. She said it had steadily grown until she decided to buy a diesel pickup to tow cars with. She actually likes to work on vehicles and brought several bags of tools. I showed her how to change the fuel filter and sent her on her way with a spare. Not that the truck ever had a fuel problem. I also had just changed the fuel filter the week of the auction. Kind of interesting to talk to, it would be interesting to know her history. Glen
