Just a heads up - Most service stations in Canada identify their diesel with Yellow Handle Covers on the pump nozzles. Shell doesn't
- I learned the hard way dumping in 50 litres of Shell Bronze - YELLOW HANDLE - before I thought... Bronze? That isn't DIESEL!!!!!
Fortunately the Service Station Staff - who had been complaining to the CORPORATE OFFICES had had lots of experience...
Long tale shortened, I had to siphon the tank - I think there was maybe 10l of gas diesel mix left in the tank. I added a litre of 15-40 oil to the tank and filled it to the top. We rocked the old girl around for a while to ensure the fuel was well mixed and fired it up. I didn't try to start the truck before I took care of the fuel in the tank!!!
Moral of the Story - Don't trust Shell Yellow Handled Nozzles - and check twice... (Funny Flying "J" has Yellow Nozzles!)
3,000 miles later no issues with the pump, injectors or engine... Whew!!!!
