I started down this road over three weeks ago. My 1999 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab LB 4x4 Diesel was starting to want to stick in second gear upon taking off until I would let up on the gas... then it would shift and drive fine. Dealer says I need a new trans. I buy a rebuilt heavy duty one from from an aftermarket source (they have been great) and have it put in by two trans mechs after hours. Two days later same problem. I follow the Disconnect Negative cable 30 min, reconnect, slow pedal depress, and start. Truck shifts great until I shut it off. Then I have to repeat the procedure or it will stick in second. Is it the APPS or is it the computer losing the setting? Has anyone else had this happen? Oh Yeah I forgot to mention that when it is stuck in second I dont have a dead pedal. The RPM's will rev (I've only taken them to 2800) but I get little speed increase and no shift. When it is idleing the rpm's are a steady 700.
