I have always had the E-knob from Geno's garage for control of my exhaust brake, but the switch started working intermittently, so I decided to build my own whether than buy another. I removed the whole shift lever and took a torch to it to bend it to the right shape I wanted. I cut the tapered/threaded end off to expose the hollow tube. I cut the head off of a 1/2" x 3" bolt and pressed the unthreaded portion of the bolt shank into the tube. I had to heat the shift lever to get it pressed in, and I have no reason to believe it will ever come loose. As for the knob, I got an old Meritor Electric shift knob used with their G-platform 10 speed transmission. I disassembled it and removed the circuit board and relay that is used to control their range solenoids on the transmission. I Soldered some leads to the microswitch in the shif knob and wired it into the relay for my exhaust brake. I then got really creative and removed the meritor medallion and cut a Cummins "C" out of a notebook I had, Put it together and I think it looks great, It works just as good too!!!!
