Archived shifting problem auto trans

Need a little help , went out at lunch and truck would not upshift to 2nd, it would rev and felt like it was hung up in first so I let off it and then it would shift . There are no codes set and and the fluid is full and fine the truck has 116000 miles and has been serviced at 100k. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Mine did the exact same thing (Only it had 1,200 miles on it at the time ) If you started in first and once past 2400 RPM and you let off the pedal it would make the shift. end result was the trans was grenaded but that was due to alot of power enhancements. maybee a transworthy guru will chime in for ya. I wanna say it is a governer solonoid issue but could be way off base.

UPDATE: Turns out to be broken strut in front band . Easy to check

just try to adjust front band if the adjuster turns in more than 3 turns this could be your problem. This problem was dignosed by Dave Goerend with back and forth e-mail . Thanks Dave. Thanks also to Timthetoolman.
