Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) shifting problem

My brother-in-law has the 99 Dodge with the automatic and for the last several months when he takes off slow the transmission shifts fine but when he takes off fast it does not want to shift from 2nd to 3rd unless he lets off the gas? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

mine does the same thing, only from 1st to 2nd. not trying to jack the thread, but i need to find out too. anybody know???

The first place to check is the TV cable adjustment. This is a very sensitive adjustment and small changes make a big difference. If you are not comfortable doing this call and I can walk you through it. It is an external cable adjustment no tools required.

'95 trans slow to shift

I'm having problems with my 1995 transmisson shifting from 2 - 3

the trans fluid is a little high, it's 20 - 30 deeze greeze

here in CO. Changed tps and an adjustment from a mechanic who

decreased volts on tps to . 5 volts? or . 4 volts? He monkey'd around with

something else; because after his adjustment it sticks on 2 -3 shift.

Of course, it does not go to 4th gear until I have temperature.
