Well, let me try this and everyone else can chime in and correct me, I got on my cast iron skivvies!

PERFORMANCE wise, the SHO seems to be the same as the Blue Chip VP-44which seem to have a bit more muscle than the HO (agressive cam ring) and SO (big rotor head) hybrids Keith at DD in Vegas used to screw around with for grins. Keith said he could get 40 additional HP out of these.

Blue Chip just upgraded the sleeve for a steel one and put in the famous Fed Ex circuit board to maximize durability, but I don't think the Blue Chip pump delivers more fuel than the SHO pump.

The II HRVP-44 SEEMS to be the king of the aftermarket daily driver/ performance pumps, combining the big SO rotor, the HO cam ring, the Fed Ex circuit board and the new steel sleeve upgrade. I think.

Now on to the two off highway/ racing VPs. One is known as the Monster and is available in I think 3 sizes, or Stages. Stage one is an upgrade from even the HRVP-44 and will deliver quite a bit more fuel.

Stage Two is said to deliver so much fuel that an upgrade in fuel delivery lines is recommended as well as bigger injectors.

Stage Three seems to be a pump of such mythical proportion that none seem to exist, suggesting that it is on par with the Lightening Series of VP pumps available from Scheid Diesel and the claim cannot be street driven. Too much fuel and too smokey.

Now I can see if I'm close to being right. Fire away, guys. :-laf

Well... . I thought the Blue Chip one was built to stock specs but upgraded with the steel sleeve & Fed Ex board. I have the II HRVP & it has the HO cam with the SO cylinders I the new board. I've only read rumors about the Monster. Now my HRVP doesn't lope any more than the factory HO it replaced but I hear some do.

You know what, I do believe you're right about the Blue Chip pump. They just rebuilt it to be more reliable.

I'm going to install my HRVP soon. I hope it does give me a good idle lope to go along with the low CR smoke stacks. :-laf

anyone out there with actual use of the sho pump? there are so many diff pumps being tested or mayed or tuned it seems that all you have is word of mouth on the reliability or lope or fuel increase. and if you dont mind sorta lost on the fed ex board thing. ???? I know the old pumps bad electronics and brass and bad material for wear. so whats up with the newer styles of electronics in these pumps. it seems to me the SHO pump is best of both combined but just more on mild and reliable than the other (off road pumps).
