:) Just want to share an experience I had with new shocks. I installed 4 new shocks on my 98 2500. As soon as I took it out on the road a very noticable rumbling sound was evident like something was loose in the suspention. By the way I also had 4 new tires installed.

I took the vehicle to Les Schwab for evaluation, which revealed the bottom of the front shocks needed to be tightened with an impact wrench, problem solved. I was sure relieved. ;)

They still might start knocking again. My guess is that you have the wrong size bushings in your new shocks. I have even heard of people substituting in the OEM bushings for the same reason. Good luck, and maybe the problem is licked.
