I have a 2012 3500 that I had in for service a couple of months ago and at that time the dealer said I had a front shock leaking. Didn't have it in stock but would order one in. Went back in today and still on backorder. This seems strange that shocks are this difficult to get. Glad I'm not needing a part that is critical to driving it. Has anyone else run into items that are on National Backorder?

Personally, I would just change them to Bilsteins anyway. One of the best things I did to my truck, I used the yellow HD shocks.

No disagreement on better shocks but when you pay this much for a truck and it's still under warranty they are going to replace them for free.

I agree with the others, the Bilstein 5100 series are great. I replaced mine after 5k miles. I couldn't believe how soft they are for a 4 ton truck. It was very easy to push down on them vs the Bilsteins. I had to use my body weight to get them to move.

The truck handles much better when towing and does not bounce up and down anymore. When not towing, the ride is a tad firmer but very exceptable. Wifey didn't even notice the difference until I made her aware. I even replaced the steering damper too. Get them from Genos Garage!

I think your dealer is fooling with you. I checked all the part numbers for 2012 3500 (all 8 PN's) and all have plenty of stock.
