When the truck wont stop bouncing or you see any leaking... ... but IMHO its time with 183k on them at least I would I have 90k on mine Im changing them
Dealer replaced mine at 53k under warranty, along with the track bar...
I had actually noticed that the truck was not riding as smoothly on the county roads that I drive everyday... dealer confirmed and replaced them.
Shocks should be replaced the day you get it. Stock shocks are just crap. At your mileage they are definitely worn out. Get the biggest race shocks you can afford. At least some Bilstein 5100s series or up
I replaced mine at 93K when I installed the Kore HP kit. The new ones are Bilsteins and they ride much better than stock shocks do. It's hard to tell when the shocks are going bad if there's no visible leak. You can't just push down on the front bumper and see if it rebounds and stops like you can a car. I'm glad I swapped them out due to mileage and the Bilsteins ride better, but mine were still working fine (based on ride quality) when I replaced them. Over 183K though, I think that's stretching it a bit. :-laf
