New to TDR, new to CTD. Bought a 01, 2500, LWB, 4x4, SLT about 20k miles ago. Replaced a 99 1500 5. 9L. LOVE the truck. I ahve been doing 7000k mile oila nd filter with Delo, 1 fuel filter, cooling flush, and diff fluid. Im at 85K miles and in need of a transmission check (fluid and bands - transmission hunts on steep grades and slow speed with no load) and would like someone who knows the drivetrain to check it out before I push the warranty limits. It's my daily commuter and weekend puller of a 8k lb utitlity trailer (logging roads and occasional 4wd spots). What should I be looking out for and what can I do relatively inexpensively ( ha ha ) to pick upa few mpg and make sure I get to 200,000 miles?

Thanks in advance, I 've been reading through here for a bout a week and you seem likea good bunch of people with good advice

I don't know if Rip does trans flushes and bands but he's a top knotch guy and an excellent source for diesel advice & parts.

Not much Rip or Robert can't do. Honest, excellent work, fair prices, and all the shop BS you could ask for. Great cheeseburgers only a couple of miles away.

Well you can do that also, if you search here and order the new truck ones and marry to two together. SNOKING
