Shopping for New '06 off the lot, some questions.

Thanks for any help on 5. 9 HO ECM and auto 48RE TCM question, DG8,48RE, for 2006. Going to dealership tomorrow to shop nationwide for remaining '06's, 5. 9,3500,SRW,Reg Cab,4x4,long bed,auto, my work truck. Got a '07 luxury truck few months ago and want to be sure a '06 offered to me from long distance away on dealer trade is really the same 5. 9 HO ECM and 48RE TCM as my '07. Been saving $$$$$ a good long time for these retirement big ticket items and was just a tad late on the 2nd order and dearly want only 5. 9's. If is 2006. 5 (build date Jan. 06-Jul. 06) then I'm thinking pretty sure it's exact match to my '07. Will be doing "sit-down" with Seattle dealer first thing Friday AM. Thanks to all. Jim.

Reg.cabs.

Reg. cabs only come in 2500 designation,unless you desire a dually. Two months ago Dave Smith Motors did a search and nothing within 1500 miles existed to my specs. I got in under the wire with a special order.

After studying some have changed my question a bit. '07 is so nice I want to be sure a new '06 is same on 5. 9 ECM and 48RE TCM. Thanks, Jim.

I know Albany Dodge had a 06 3500 regular cab and it's the last one they have, type in 12077 for a zip on the Dodge site and they are the first dealer to come up, if it's a truck you want from the other side of the country I'll check it out for you.

Bajabob, Right you are so work truck is now a 2500. Turbo Tim1, Thanks for the offer but it's a HEMI. Local dealer here in Seattle found just about what I wanted not far away. 2006. 5,SLT, 5. 9L HO,2500,Reg Cab,long bed,auto,4x4,limited-slip,trailer tow,Molten Red,Premium bench seat,plus handfull of other lesser options that I'd also wanted. Will pick it up about this time next week. Sales rep said local area Cummins employees and anyone who knows anything about 5. 9's are buying up last of the '06's real fast. I was there about 4 hours from start of search to finishing puchase papers and they sold 2 more 5. 9's in just that time. I'm 57 yrs old and if I don't wreck should be set for long as I can get a leg into the cab. Haven't owned a car since my '66 GP. Thanx to TDR's members for all the knowledge. Jim.
