Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Short Shift Kit for a 96 NV4500

Were can I find a Short Throw Shifter kit for my 96 NV4500? All I can find is 98up

I had the same question and here is what I found. You have to install the top cover off of the 98-newer transmission in order to install the short shifter. I was also told that by just installing the top cover from the 98-newer, you will notice it will have a shorter throw than what you are now used to. The short shifter, should you decide to drop the transmission and install the newer top cover and still want a shorter throw, will give you a notchy feeling when shifting. Someone who has done the short shifter install may chime in, if I am wrong on my research.

Is it safe to Guess that the 98-newer top cover is a "bolt-on" or is there modification necessary?
