third gen ubolts and top plates to clean it up a little ...

handles like a vette ... rides like a truck

still looking for a 4" flare ... these are temp / perm

Send them to me at -- email address removed -- and I will resize them down for you and send them back so you can have them for either your forum or readers rig. We are going to be sitting down to dinner for a bit then when I am done I will do them if it would help you... ... ... Andy

Rex... .

Here you go all resized and done to put here. I will send them back so you can add them to your readers rigs for your keepsake. Glad I could help you and hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas... ... Andy

The 1st picture...

yep i agree ... if you look carefully you can see the tread sticking out about 1/2 inch on the rear ... i'm hoping to find a better solution ... something like the new third gen flares (i looked at them closely on a neighbors truck and believe it would take a good body man to make them work) or a first gen dually flare but haven't found one to look at side by side yet . .

If you want another inch or so, you could go for a flexable rubber flare like what is used on school buses and other heavy trucks.

Rex. .

You have two options for a wider fender flare. The Warn 4x flares are fairly wide and at times on a stock truck look a tad wide to me. However, with the extra width needed by you in this case they may be just what the doctor ordered.

Now your other option if you can still find a set in a warehouse would be the Lund "Widesides" they used to make. They were a pseudo dually flare which were intended for thos who wanted the fat fendered look without the extra tire. They were wide enough to cover what you needed to.

Hope that helps some for you..... Andy

according to the guys at advance auto the ones on now ARE the Warn 4x's ...

i have looked high and low with no luck but have had people describe what sounds like your "widesides" that's what i'll look for today ...

i haven't painted the ones now because they don't quite keep me out of trouble with johnny law ...

thanks guys

It that a DRW rear end or did you just put DRW wheels and tires and call it good except for the additional springs to give you more load capicity.

Would a factory DRW rearend stick out further on the sides then a SRW with DRW wheels and tires.

I ask this because I always thought it would be cool to put some 22. 5's dulley wheels and tires on my 3rd gen quad cab short bed and use the DRW fender flares off the mega cab.

Do I have to swap out my SRW axle for a DRW axle or can I just bolt up the wheels and go?

Thanks

"Rex,

Check out these flares on JC Whitney's website: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/...Ntt=wheel+flare. "

:D

great minds think alike ... i've got them sitting on a shelf in the garage right now ... they are not long enough to line the whole length of the current flares ...

i used a cab and chassis dually rear ...

the c/c is 1" narrower that the srw, which is in turn 1" narrower than the pickup dually rear ... we had all three laying on the garage floor at one time ... i didn't measure exactly just pulled a tape and eyeballed it ...

a freind of mine wants to make his '03 sb a dually ... when he put his 35's on we looked at his hubs and they had a shoulder that was about the same as my dually 80 ... so when he gets some tires/wheels/lugs/center caps we plan on doing his ...

looks like all he'll need are some new wheel studs ...

so i believe it's just new wheel studs and then bolt 'em up and go on the rear

and new factory spacers for the front (100$ a side)
